CCK, secreted from duodenal cells in response to nutrients is involved in the satiety mechanisms, via activation of nucleus tractus solitarius (NTS). The arcuate (ARC) and paraventricular nuclei (PVN), which receives projections from NTS, integrate the circuitry that controls food intake.
